Saints Sergius and Bacchus
The site of Mar Sarkis and Bacchus occupies a hill located in the village outskirts. The area, whose human occupation clearly dates back to antiquity, is home to a set of historic buildings and installations. The most interesting construction would be that of the small chapel of Saints Sergius and Bacchus. Small in size (>>), this chapel seems to be a partial medieval reconstruction of an older structure of which the corner >> remained, built with blocks cut in the antique style, while the rest of the structure is built with rudimentary type blocks. The interior of this chapel is characterized by niche opened in its wall >> and which is surmounted by a large broken lintel bearing, in its center, a cross pattée inscribed in a disc. Not far from this chapel, several antique column shafts lie on the ground. Apart from this chapel, a second chapel probably dating back to the 19th century was restored in the 2000s. In addition, a large cylindrical cistern is dug into the ground to the east of the site. Despite these significant remains, the area remains poorly explored and documented.
