The house of the Brother Estefan Nehme

The house of Brother Estefan Nehme is located not far from the Saydet al-Marj church toward the south-western side of the village. The house takes the form of a vernacular dwelling typical of the Lebanese mountains, of an elementary single-cell type. Its inside space, composed of a single open space, is covered by a terraced roof built with massive wooden beams. Its stones, made of white limestone, are arranged in regular courses. Actually part of the house serves as a small chapel while the remaining part is arranged as an exposition of Brother Nehme’s major life stages.
