Patriarchal Circuit: Our Lady of Ilige, Mayfouk, Yanouh

Throughout its history, and depending on the security situation, the Maronite Patriarchate has moved its seat among several villages in Mount Lebanon. Apart from the site Our Lady of Qannnoubine, the monasteries of Our Lady of Ilige in Mayfouk and that of Our Lady of Yanouh are among the most emblematic sites. These two sites alone constitute 700 years of the history of the patriarchate and the Maronite community (23 patriarchs in Yanouh between the year 760 and 1277, 18 patriarchs in Mayfouk, mainly between 1277 and 1444, as well as during an episode around the year 1120).
