Typical ottoman period Maronite churches circuit

Typical ottoman period Maronite churches circuit: Qartaba St Teddy, Ehmej Saydet El-Chir, Mechmech St Doumit, Lehfed, Saydet el-Marj

This circuit, featuring a collection of Maronite churches mainly dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, allows visitors to visualize and understand the typical architecture of churches from the Ottoman era in Mount Lebanon. With their parallelepiped shape, their structure composed of pillars supporting ribbed vaults and their masonry, these churches illustrate the final phase of the development of rural Christian religious architecture in Lebanon before the era of modernism and the introduction of new materials such as concrete.
